Teaching and Promotion of Aspiring Talents

Teaching

The Joint Research Platform Elfriede Jelinek team supports the teaching operations of the University of Vienna and the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna by providing material from the archive of the Elfriede Jelinek Research Centre for classes and papers. During the preparation and the compilation of papers, the team offers supervision and substantial counsel.

Members of the Joint Research Platform offer classes on Jelinek and her contexts, meaning that the results of the Joint Research Platform have a direct impact on the teaching and, therefore, on student´s current papers.

Additionally, interuniversity classes are planned in cooperation between the University of Vienna and the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna, as well as joint lecture series and internationally networked scientific-artistic teaching.

Promotion of Aspiring Talents

One crucial objective of the Joint Research Network is the promotion of new talents in the artistic-scientific field. We wish to support students, graduate students, professorial candidates and project staff of the University of Vienna, the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna and international universities. Exchanging ideas and projects with well-established artists and Jelinek-researchers is beneficial for both sides and gives new impulses for research on Jelinek.

Aspiring scientists and artists who develop artistic projects or write their diploma and master theses, dissertations and habilitations on Jelinek and her contexts, especially on Austrian art from the 1960s onwards, are introduced here together with their topics. The finalized works are published on the JeliNetz of the Elfriede Jelinek research centre.

Furthermore, we collect information, important calls, grants and funding for young scientists and artists.

In regular workshops of the Joint Research Platform, which are organized at the University of Vienna and international universities, aspiring scientists and artists have the possibility to present their work and projects and to discuss them with colleagues as well as renowned experts and artists.

On top of this, we continually offer internships. They can be accredited by the University of Vienna, the Art and Music Private University of the City of Vienna and also internationally.
